An extensive introduction immerses the visitor in the place they’re about to discover and helps them enjoy all the splendour of the city. During their tour, visitors will learn about numerous anecdotes of many distinguished persons who have visited Hondarribia, and also about the diplomatic protagonism Hondarribia has had for centuries due to its privileged location

The project has been promoted by the “Asociación de Hosteleria de Hondarribia” (Hondarribia Hotel Industry Association).  Designed and structured for the visitor, from the beginning it has been conceived to provide and disseminate historical and cultural information. The guide includes five promenades and gives the user the possibility to design their own route depending on personal interests. Everything, audio, texts, photographs…, has been conceived and adapted for mobile devices.  New content, which is adapted to the guide and especially created with the visitor in mind, has been added to pre-existing material making the itineraries natural and intuitive. It should be noted that the guide includes different maps and GPS technology to help visitors find their way. 

The more than three-hour-long audio provides details that make the visit enjoyable. The photos and illustrations help discover the secrets of the city while walking along its streets. The audiovisual guide was developed from the audioguide created by Noa, which was originally promoted and sponsored by the Hotel Río Bidasoa. As well as adapting the audioguide to its current format, Alambre Estudio has been responsible for developing additional materials, adapting them to other languages and launching. 

The guide has been launched in four languages: Basque, Spanish, English and French, for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. From this point onward, it will complement and boost Hondarribia’s quality tourism offer.
